Norway: Princess Ragnhild, Mrs. Lorentzen died

Princess Ragnhild, Mrs. Lorentzen, older sister of King Harald of Norway, died today at 9:45 am at family home in Rio de Janeiro aged 82. Funeral service will take place in Palace Chapel, time is not fixed yet. She will be will be laid to rest at Asker Church. Original announcement in Norwegian.

 

 

Princess Ragnhild Alexandra of Norway was born on 9th June 1930 in Oslo as the oldest child and daughter of then Crown Prince Olav of Norway (King Olav V of Norway) and his wife Crown Princess Märtha, née Princess of Sweden. She married on 15th May 1953 in Asker Church, norwegian industrialist Erling Sven Lorentzen. The couple who lived in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil had three children, Haakon Lorentzen (*1954) who is married to Martha Carvalho de Freitas and has 3 children Olav (*1985), Christian (*1988) & Sophia (*1994), Ingeborg Lorentzen (*1955) who is married to Paolo Ribeiro Filho and has daughter Victoria (*1988), and Ragnhild Lorentzen (*1968) who is married to Aaron Long and has two daughters Alexandra (*2007) & Elizabeth (*2011).
